Architectural Technical Field Representative
CTA Architects P.C. is a New York City-based architectural firm offering a wide range of architectural services for urban living. We specialize in new design, restoration, rehabilitation, interior design, affordable housing and historic preservation.
Join our practice as a Technical Field Representative. This position will be a minimum eighteen-month commitment as CTA Architect’s site representative for the duration of the construction of a new 50,000 square foot school addition in the Bronx, New York. Professional Architecture or Engineering degree and minimum five years’ experience required. Benefits include 401(k) after one year, paid vacation and health insurance.
Requirements:
- B. Arch or M. Arch from an accredited program.
- 5+ years of professional experience required, experience with the SCA is strongly preferred.
- Experience working directly with clients, contractors, consultants and vendors. Ability to effectively communicate with all members of the project team, both verbally and in writing.
- Mac-based office: Computer drafting skills and MS Office skills are a must. Vectorworks, Revit, and Adobe Acrobat/Creative Suite proficiency preferred.
- Excellent time management and client presentation skills are a must. Ability to organize project documents and correspondence.
- Familiarity with SCA procedures, standards, and project management software (Kahua) is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day onsite management of the construction of a new 50,000 square foot school in the Bronx for the duration of construction administration, including observing the progress and quality of work, responding to contractor RFIs, and maintaining records of the construction site and its activities.
- Act as point person for SCA, contractors, consultants, vendors and in-house team communication.
- All aspects of Architecture and building for the duration of construction administration.
- Coordination with subconsultants as necessary.
- Management and coordination of project submittals amongst appropriate project team members.
- Research products/materials and coordinate with manufacturers.
- Develop technical details as necessary to assist contractor inquiries during the construction process.
