St. Luke’s Health System is currently seeking an ICU Clinical Educator to join our team in Meridian under the direction of our Director of Clinical Learning for our Clinical Learning and Student Services department!
The Clinical Educator plans, supervises, coordinates and evaluates education programs for clinical personnel. Provides clinical education and evaluation to clinical staff and facilitates evidence-based research within a specialized area.
WHAT WILL I DO? This position will help ideate on ways to improve our inpatient adult critical care unit and build project plans together to make those ideas come to life. The person in this role will be the end-to-end owner of the work. This is a unit-based educator role in the Meridian ICU which will also include collaboration with the adult critical care Education and Clinical Nurse Specialist team. Our ideal candidate is someone who can take big ideas and turn them into tactical steps that can be executed upon. The person needs to have strong interpersonal skills, be very detailed, and have excellent communication skills. Also, must be willing to have fun, work hard, and have a true passion to help solve problems and help others!
Develops, implements and oversees the orientation and/or education of staff.
Designs or collaborates in designing educational curriculums, classes and activities.
Evaluates effectiveness and outcomes of educational endeavors.
Acts as a facilitator, consultant, and leader in area of expertise.
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
Provides education consistent with current protocols, procedures, evidence, and Magnet (as appropriate).
Devises and maintains strategies to ensure professional development.
Coaches program participants and/or unit practitioners.
Develops education to meet regulatory standards and all related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Manages multiple complex education projects.
May provide input into the employee evaluation process, counsel employees and/or recommend initial discipline and other personnel actions
Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing
4 years’ related experience
Current RN License in State of Practice
Critical Care Nursing Experience
Clinical Education Experience
