Our electronics technicians apply electronic theory, electrical testing procedures and related knowledge to repair and newly overhaul products returned by Garmin customers. Attention to detail, ability to work with others and complex thinking is a must if you want to be a part of this first-class team.
We are looking for an Electronics Technician Inspector for our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role you will be responsible for tracing circuits of defective units, using knowledge or electronics theory and electrical test equipment to locate defects and repair units to the component level. Other essential functions include:
Discuss layout and assembly problems with management to clarify problems encountered while repairing product
Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to improve assembly, maintenance, test method or product performance
Analyze and interpret test data
Adjust, calibrate, align and modify circuitry and components to effect repairs on units
Record test/alignment procedures and results, defects, repair history, numerical and graphical data
Must possess the ability to lift up to 25 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
Due to the level of training necessary to be successful in this position, successfully hired associates are not eligible for job transfer for a minimum of one year from their date of hire.
Qualified candidates possess an Associate of Arts degree in Electronics Technology, Electronics, Engineering or a substantially similar field, or electronics related Military training or completion of a minimum of 80 hours towards a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Technology or substantially related field. Other requirements include:
Must possess demonstrated experience and proficiency in component level troubleshooting
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must demonstrate proficient mechanical aptitude with a strong attention to detail
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
2 or more years of related Electronics Technician or Engineering Technician experience is highly preferred!
