The HR Business Partner is located in Belvidere, IL and an essential asset to building the connective foundation to support our business and people. The position will report to the VP Human Resources and is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in Plant Operations. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resources-related issues. Acting as a change agent to foster the development of an employee-oriented company culture that embodies the NWP vision, mission and values.

Responsibilities

Formulates partnerships across the designated business function(s) and HR to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization
Maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition
Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Develops employment terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
Qualifications

Demonstrated self-motivation by functioning independently with a high degree of initiative.
Experience working in a high-performance team culture/environment.
Thorough knowledge of labor legislation.
3-5 years HR business partner experience required.
Some experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Broad working knowledge of all aspects of HR functions and business processes
Must be a team player and have ability to work independently.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in data analytics
Strong planning and execution skills
Solid cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
Strong writing, interpersonal and presentation skills
Bilingual Required
Education/Training/Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
SPHR/PHR preferred
Physical Requirements

Able to travel within the United States
