Practice all aspects of Business Architecture across the Southwest Airlines enterprise. Provide guidance, support and education to business and IT staff in the development of Business Architecture artifacts and execution of Business Architecture activities.

  • Perform the analysis and collaboration necessary to produce high-quality and effective BA artifacts, including:
  • Capability Models/Assessment
  • Value Streams/Assessment
  • Value Stream Maps / Value Chains
  • Business Model Canvas / Portfolio Canvas
  • Information Models
  • Strategy Implementation Roadmaps
  • Business Ecosystem Diagrams
  • Business Process and Procedure Models/Assessment
  • Planning Assessments
  • Develop processes, KPI’s, guidelines, and standards that result in the alignment of corporate strategic goals with program & project execution.
  • General
  • Support the strategy and vision across the integration and interoperability of the BPA, EA, ITSM and Portfolio and Project Management tooling.
  • Understand and influence business requirements and strategies across domains, products and enterprise programs.
  • Develop executive level presentations with minimal guidance. Provide executive level presentations at the enterprise level.
  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge of Business Process Modeling development and facilitation within ARIS. Possess a broad industry knowledge of process modeling and process improvement methodologies and trends.
  • Demonstrate an overall understanding of the interplay between BPM, Enterprise Architecture, ITSM and Portfolio & Project Management tools and capabilities and how all are optimally leveraged in an organization.

Combined experience in Business Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Corporate Strategy, Technology Strategy, or Planning environments. Additionally, Business Analysis work experience. Expert Level experience in Business Architecture Modeling/Facilitation/Development. Intermediate level experience in Business Process Modeling/Facilitation/Development.

Experience with commercial Enterprise Architecture and/or Business Process Modeling tools

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time

  • Intermediate knowledge of airline IT organizations and standard practices.
  • Working knowledge of project management methodology.
  • At least a working knowledge of ARIS; Working knowledge of Alfabet and other “Business of IT” tools.
  • Critical Skills:
  • Excellent partnering, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based, Customer-service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to present concepts and findings in formal settings.
