Hiring Range: $2,927 - $3415.00 per month
Summary of Work
This position is responsible for eligibility case management of economic assistance programs including TANF, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid, Child Care Assistance Program, and LIHEAP. Duties include interviewing applicants; processing applications; determining eligibility; maintaining ongoing caseloads; processing appeal requests and fraud actions; interpreting state, federal, and county policies; processing administrative reports and record keeping; as well as other duties and projects assigned by the agency. A high level of verbal and written communication skills is also required. Primary work location is expected to be in Fort Totten. Work area covers three locations: Fort Totten, Maddock, and Minnewaukan. Travel between offices may be required.
The successful applicant must pass a standard background, motor vehicle and criminal record check and a pre-employment drug test.
Eligibility Worker I requires the qualifications as listed for the "Eligibility Worker Technician Underfill" below, plus one year of work experience determining eligibility in a social service office in one of the following economic assistance programs: TANF, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Foster Care, Medicaid, or LIHEAP, OR Eligibility Worker Associate Degree offered at Bismarck State College.
Eligibility Worker Technician
If no candidates meet the requirements the position may be filled with an Eligibility Worker Technician (4001), with a minimum monthly starting salary $2427.00 per month. Minimum qualifications require:
A high school diploma or GED, PLUS one of the following:
Three years of work experience in the clerical, accounting, financial, legal or teaching fields;
Three years of a bachelor’s degree program (90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours);
Three years combined education and experience as listed; or
Completion of the Eligibility Worker Certificate Program formerly offered at Lake Region State College.
