Afficionado is an Independent, Specialty Coffee Roaster with a flagship coffee shop in Manhattan. Since our founding in 2006 we have always worked directly with every producer and farmer we source from to ensure an ethical and sustainable supply chain from seed-to-cup. We pride ourselves in not only forging and maintaining these long lasting relationships but also are committed to improving the infrastructure and quality of life of our coffee producing communities year around. We believe that advancement should never forgo quality. Our café takes this one step further, allowing us to connect with our local community and disrupt what people have come to expect from a coffee shop.
We are looking to expand our team to hire ambitious baristas who are willing to develop their coffee knowledge, maintain high product standards, and provide exceptional service.

What we're looking for in a team member:
At least 3-5 years of barista experience
Advance latte art capabilities and the ability to train others
Food Handlers Certificate
A desire to connect and cultivate relationships with our customers and team
Positive attitude & top-notch guest service
A strong work ethic-- understanding that success is not found by taking shortcuts
Meticulous attention to detail and cleanliness
Development focused-- wants to stay with the company long term
Experience as a Trainer/ Educator is perfered
Schedule: Must have WEEKENDS & CLOSING AVAILABILITY
This is a mixed position with most of your hours (25-30/week) as the closing barista at the cafe and as needed supporting Head of Education with external trainings and at events. After 6-8 months of experience, you will lead espresso machine cleaning and barista trainings.
approximate cafe schedule: Thursday-Monday or Friday-Tuesday noon-5:30pm

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
