Lab Assistant - Cheyenne WY

The Lab Assistant performs or assists in the procurement, testing and processing of laboratory specimens appropriate to the setting, under the direction of technologists. They provide data entry function to facilitate specimen processing and result entry. They collaborate with staff to perform support functions essential for the laboratory to achieve optimal performance and maintain compliance with regulatory agencies. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma is required if performing laboratory testing; Two years of college in a science related field preferred or training as a medical assistant is desirable.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Required to have a valid driver's license; Phlebotomy certification by ASCP or another accrediting agency is desirable.

EXPERIENCE: Required to meet all personnel requirements for general qualifications of CLIA 88; Experience as a phlebotomist in a hospital setting is desirable; Prefer experience in performance of laboratory testing in an observed environment;
