Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and other materials. Your expertise in various carpentry techniques and tools will be crucial in ensuring high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully understand project requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials (e.g., wood, fiberglass) according to specifications
- Build wooden structures such as walls, floors, and roofs using framing techniques
- Install windows, doors, stairs, and molding
- Inspect and repair damaged framework or other structures
- Select appropriate tools and materials for each project
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role
- Proficient in using hand tools (e.g., saws, chisels) and power tools (e.g., drills, sanders)
- Strong knowledge of different carpentry techniques and construction methods
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
- Physical stamina to handle demanding tasks such as lifting heavy materials
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Skills:
- Electrical knowledge for wiring installations
- Drywall installation and repair expertise
- Experience operating CNC machines for precision cutting
- Construction estimating skills for cost analysis and project planning
- Caulking proficiency for sealing joints and gaps
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, saws, levels, etc.
- Plastering skills for surface finishing
- Siding installation experience using various materials (e.g., vinyl, wood)
- Frame carpentry expertise for structural framework construction
- Ability to fabricate custom pieces as needed
