POSITION TITLE: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing Engineering

REPORTS TO: VP of Operations

WAGES: Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications


Manages and coordinates the work of the Manufacturing Engineering staff.


  • Thoroughly understand and adhere to Corporate goals, objectives, and strategy
  • Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization and with the Senior Management Team as an effective developer of solutions and manager of business operations
  • Responsible for area capital expenditures and manpower budgets by identifying short and long-term issues that must be addressed by recommending options and courses of action
  • Achieve departmental financial objectives by preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective action if necessary
  • Responsible for the performance and optimal utilization of personnel by mentoring and providing educational opportunities while administering the employee evaluation program
  • Responsible for the enforcement of discipline and the establishment and maintenance of positive morale amongst employees within scope of responsibility
  • Serve as a liaison between manufacturing and product development
  • Responsible for plant layout and product flow
  • Understand and manage capacity constraints in the Viola facility
  • Teach and use standardized troubleshooting methodologies to quickly solve issues in production
  • Be a practitioner of Lean principles in production
  • Responsible for the implementation of all process improvements and new job start up projects in manufacturing, and will assign staff members as the manufacturing project lead for those projects or will personally take the lead as the assigned ME on projects
  • Drive future technology and automation direction in Manufacturing
  • A change agent that drives change and accountability throughout the manufacturing organization
  • Act as advisor to the VP of Operations


  • Experienced leader preferably in the manufacturing field
  • Strong CNC machining background
  • Experience with robotics and automation systems for manufacturing
  • Experience utilizing Lean manufacturing principles and methods in a high volume production facility
  • Must have Project Management skills
  • Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
  • High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • Well organized and self-directed
  • Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and ideas and serve as a mentor
  • B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering or similar discipline
  • 7-10 years related experience in a machining and assembly environment preferred
