The objective of the Assistant Manager is to meet or exceed the sales and profitability goals of the store by maximizing personal sales as well as coaching team members to multiply the success. Provide optimum luxury level customer service by anticipating and fulfilling customer requirements and consistently apply non-negotiable sales standards. The MIT also assists in all areas of store operations such as transfers and supply orders.

Primary Responsibilities

Policies and Procedures

  • Follows all company policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate effective phone etiquette through customer service (you can hear their smile through the other end of the phone)
  • Consistently adheres to all retail non-negotiables

Store Standards

  • Partners with Store Manager to make sure store standards are being upheld by the team
  • Provides a welcoming inclusive store environment consistent with our company

culture.

  • Generates visible enthusiasm for the product and the company
  • Adheres to Company Dress Code and visual aesthetic
  • Support the maintenance and order of all stockroom areas, including off-site stockroom

Operations Excellence

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to increase personal and store productivity
  • Apply POS knowledge to process needed transactions
  • Can effectively deal with and defuse difficult client situations and any customer complaints by making the client feel heard and appreciated
  • Actively supports other stores in finding items they may need for client sends, is always helpful and promotes a goodwill spirit toward all store locations
  • Participate in the receiving and processing of stock to the sales floor
  • Participates in accepting store transfers and customer sends
  • Reports a weekly store supply order
  • Responsible for all opening and closing procedures of the store on all designated shifts as per the store hours of operations. Note: If one cannot open or close store they are responsible for finding replacement staff and must immediately inform the Store Manager.

  • Communicates product and customer feedback to managers
  • Assesses store morale, monitors and praises positive associate performance
  • Partners with store manager to resolve staff performance issues promptly
  • Actively supports other stores in finding items they may need for client sends, is always helpful and promotes a goodwill spirit toward all store locations
  • Leads by example in selling from start to finish. Knows that completing a sale includes cleaning out the fitting room, restocking, and following up the sale with a thank you card.
  • Is a team player and will assist other associates in team selling

Clienteling

  • Consistently builds client relationships and maintains a detailed, organized client book.
  • Uses detailed notes and information derived from client interactions for strategic clienteling
  • Has thorough knowledge of store inventory and studies line sheets for future sales opportunities

Sales and Performance

  • Provides excellent customer service to actively support asset Protection, & loss prevention (in compliance with company policies and procedures).
  • Maximizes personal sales at all opportunities
  • Radiates positivity and uses appropriate energy level to match the client’s needs
  • Asks probing questions to understand and enhance the customer experience
  • uses product knowledge and storytelling to add value to a sale

Merchandising

  • Attend and participate in store floor set
  • Execute and communicate product moves and markdowns
  • Clean, vacuum, fold, size, steam, replenish as assigned
  • Actively participate in all merchandising activities including, but not limited to: daily stock maintenance, product transfers, folding and floor changes

Physical Demands

  • Standing, Walking, squatting, bending, twisting, and climbing ladders 6-12 ft.
  • Lifting and carrying 5-25 pounds
  • Reaching above and below shoulder level
  • Ability to keep up with a fast paced retail environment

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $35,000.00 to $40,000.00 /year
