As the Machine Shop Supervisor you will provide overall direction, on-floor leadership and continuous improvement of the machine shop processes, procedures, and equipment. Directs the work of machinists, and other support personnel. Ensures the achievement of safety, quality and production objectives.
Leads a group of skilled and unskilled machinist (10-15 people) supporting a 24/7 operation.
Ensures optimal use of plant resources through workflow planning, process improvement, training and development of assigned employees.
Maintains safe working conditions.
Provides training and development programs to apprentice and existing machinists to ensure they are well qualified, cross-functional, and performing to the job qualification standards.
Assures maximum reliability of equipment, processes and procedures (through written and verbal documentation)
Executes and drives the department Apprenticeship and Internship programs.
Determines and executes to Key Performance Indicators to include Safety, Quality, Production, Annual Wildly Important Goal (4DX WIG), Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement activities.
Identifies and recommends technology/system improvements to achieve safety, manufacturing productivity and quality objectives.
Responsible for the optimization of cost and production.
BS Degree in Business or Engineering, or 5 years of equivalent experience
Experience leading large projects or employees in industrial manufacturing
A minimum of 5 years of CNC Milling/CNC Turning programming preferred
A minimum of 2 years in maintaining machining training programs
Advanced knowledge and understanding of precision metal working
Basic use of SAP, Autodesk Vault and Microsoft Office
