This role owns vital Credit Risk metrics that inform and drive a smarter, faster, better way of doing business across the Commercial Bank organization. The individual who fills this role is a business intelligence expert, driving a consistent approach to executing against established productivity metrics and regularly influencing senior leaders across the organization. The ideal candidate possess a proven background in establishing metrics that drive efficiency, has expertise in advanced reporting/analytics tools and techniques, and has a strong aptitude for analyzing complex data sets to deliver high quality reporting to senior managers.

The Business Analysis & Reporting Manager will join a global Data Analytics & Tools (DAT) group, leading a strategic operational metrics program for a key Risk functional organization. The successful candidate will learn core business processes and partner with Risk, Finance, Operations, Technology, and global team resources to lead both strategy and execution of an operational metrics reporting & analytics program.
Define, monitor, and report key operational metrics, mining data from available data sources; create a robust documentation suite to clearly articulate data definitions while highlighting data quality gaps for inclusion in Technology and Process Improvement roadmaps
Prepare an Executive Management Report (EMR), incorporating key people, productivity, efficiency, client experience, finance, and control metrics. Review in senior manager forums and speak fluently to patterns in observed data
Help to develop headcount capacity and forecasting models to ensure appropriate staffing levels in anticipation of expected volume patterns; refresh based on actually observed monthly volumes
Provide a high level of responsiveness to executive ad-hoc requests related to process improvement analysis and “what-if” scenario modelling
Interface with credit risk, finance and data partners to translate capacity model, taxonomy, and volumes into activity-based unit cost allocations at the client level
Conduct time studies for key processes to understand organizational and activity-level effort requirements. Manage ongoing time study refresh in response to material process changes
8+ years of experience within MIS, Operations, Finance, and/or Management Consulting roles. The successful candidate will have a unique mix of technical data skills and business acumen (credit risk / underwriting knowledge strongly preferred), with past experience in operational process monitoring & management. He/she will have demonstrated ability to set a strategic management reporting vision from scratch
BS/BA required; quantitative focus strongly preferred; Experience developing complex business analysis models, preferably in support of volume capacity and forecasting initiatives
Proven experience delivering timely, high quality, senior manager-level reporting and analysis from diverse, complex data sources. Attention to detail a must with focus on executive quality presentation
Team player/go-getter attitude with excellent communication, project management, client partnership ability, and willingness to deliver on commitments during periods of challenging deadlines
Advanced-level ability expected in all MS Office tools (Excel, Pivot Tables, Access, VBA, PowerPoint)
Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing concepts and exposure to one or more Business Intelligence toolsets and database platforms: SQL/Oracle/Teradata, R/SAS, Python, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Analysis Services (SSAS), Qlikview/QlikSense/Tableau, Business Objects, Crystal, etc.
