The Air CoE Specialist will report to the Director, Air Center of Excellence (CoE) within the Environmental Compliance and Technical Services CoE within the Global Safety & Environment (GSE) function. As a member of the air team, the Specialist is responsible to support activity with respect to air compliance projects, programs and technical support globally, as assigned.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing air / environmental support to Merck and MSD facilities as requested.
Performing air emission calculations, determine permit applicability and document compliance with permit conditions.
Providing technical support for permit application, program and tools development, risk mitigation efforts and technical training
Support strategies to achieve compliance goals in alignment with GSE and Merck business goals and values
Participating in cross-functional projects to complete milestones by established deadlines, while adhering to approved financial budgets.

Education Minimum Requirement:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Science

Required Experience and Skills:
5 years of environmental management and implementation at manufacturing or research facilities, including air program.
Strong technical skills, with ethics as a core value
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate effectively

Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in pharmaceutical or chemical industry
Experience in air emission calculations and tools
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; ability to work transparently and with a sense of urgency across various businesses and functions
Ability to drive customer service/value and build strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders
