**Information Technology (IT) Vendor Manager**

The IT Vendor Manager's responsibility is to build, maintain, and enhance relationships with strategic IT vendors and internal stakeholders.

This role will also have input into the strategic development and execution of several IT sourcing and contracting initiatives related to overall company goals tied to IT solutions. He/she will provide review and direction for vendor activities, ensuring that the vendor's performance meets expectations. Overall, the IT Vendor Manager must ensure that the organization achieves its objectives with strategic vendors and assists the vendors in their efforts to successfully meet or exceed SLA’s.


Work closely with the IT leadership assisting in the identification and evaluation of 3rd party vendors.


Prepare vendor evaluation artifacts.


Own the due diligence process and any issues identified.


Ensure thorough vetting and understanding of risk Assessment, mitigation and remediation.


Create and maintain ongoing monitoring plans.


Complete performance scorecards, including the use of relevant metrics and KPI's to the product/service.


Conduct business reviews that provide insights and status to key stakeholders.


Perform periodic refreshes of due diligence elements.


Keep up with news on industry, products/services and third parties.


Conduct periodic reviews of third party financials and state of health.


Hold regular meetings with third parties.


Re-assess risk ratings upon trigger events.


Identify, report and resolve issues – escalate when called for.


Prepare and periodically update exit strategies.


Ensure that contract terms and conditions are being met.


Prepare periodic status reports to management on the status and health of the engagement portfolio.


Support the fulfillment of all regulatory requests and deliverables.


Keep abreast of regulatory guidelines applicable to third party risk management.



Experience with and significant knowledge of IT outsourcing and performance management methods, calculations and best practices in particular.

Proven expertise in and significant experience with a managed services environment and relationship.

Strong knowledge of all aspects of the IT functional area being sourced.

Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under time pressure.

Proven project management skills; experience in business systems and process planning.

Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.

Excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills; team-oriented, collaborative leadership skills and ability to lead colleagues informally.

Highly self-motivated and directed.

Strong customer service orientation.

Knowledge of market trends in contract and pricing models, service delivery and performance management, and innovations.


Requires strong dispute resolution and mediation skills to handle issue escalation and to drive win-win outcomes for both parties.

Understanding of best practices, methodologies and processes used for IT vendor landscape.

Understanding of potential issues (political, influence) internally and within vendor organizations.

Strong ability to communicate with IT users and business leaders to understand requirements, expectations and value measures.

Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent experience managing 3rd party vendors.

Familiarity with Outsourcing Models.

Familiarity with ERP, SAAS and IT portfolio in general.

5 years managing WMO technology is desired.

Project Management Experience is desired
