With general direction, sell and service VSP Optics’ branded products and services by managing existing accounts and developing new prospects in the private practice theater. Exercise a broad knowledge of the organization's services, products and marketing techniques, and technical optics to achieve market share growth objectives and operational goals.
Formulate and implement strategic business plans specific to the needs of individual private practices to retain and increase brand share growth in a designated territory.
Cultivate and develop strong business relationships with customers and prospective customers’ executives.
Manage business relationships with practice owners and their staff.
Educate customers on industry and product technology trends in order to inform and assist with business decisions.
Maintain current working knowledge on existing and new products/services and other general information to ensure accurate information is provided.
Act as liaison between various VSP departments and customers to ensure service levels and expectations are met. Collaborate with marketing and product development to address customer’s needs and analyze market data.
Utilize sales automation system to make inquiries, maintain records and prepare reports.
Establish solid relationships with key VSP contract labs in the territory. Provide to customers relevant promotional information from each contract lab.
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience
Two to four years direct outside sales experience, in the optical or ophthalmic industry, with demonstrated account management, servicing, negotiation and established private practice relationships
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated track record in developing business to business relationships
Demonstrated track record meeting sales/revenue goals with major account responsibility
Knowledge of optical products, services and healthcare industry
Must travel more than 50% of the time
Clean DMV record
Candidate must reside in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota
