The New Jersey Judiciary Information Technology Office is a nationally recognized leader in the development of case management and mobile applications systems that improve the operations and efficiency of the courts and deliver technology services to judges, attorneys, law enforcement and the public. Currently we are seeking an individual to work on the Central Office Technical Services team. This position will support the desktop, laptop, mobile and Windows server environments. The selected candidate will be responsible for routine PC and laptop maintenance including maintaining current Windows operating system versions, patch levels and routine PC and laptop refresh cycles.

Advanced skills using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Active Directory Group Policy administration are preferred.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the deployment of Windows critical updates as well as maintaining up to date versions of desktop productivity applications such as Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, Adobe and other third-party applications
  • Test new software products, develop work plans and prepare end-user documentation
  • Deploy new versions of Windows 10 operating system to Central Office users and deploy feature packs
  • Perform annual Group Policy compliance audits
  • Support third party package distribution through Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
  • Monitor statewide patch management infrastructure ensuring prompt and reliable monthly Windows cumulative updates

Salary: $56,918 (Starting salary will normally be at the minimum but may go up to 15% above based on education and experience)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity and one (1) year of professional experience in: analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, resolving technical problems, testing, defining business requirements, training and/or installing computer systems applications OR planning, acquiring, installing and implementing telecommunications facilities and services, wide area networks, or local area networks OR generating and maintaining system software.

Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.

A Bachelor's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and one year of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.

An Associate's Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.

An Associate's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and three years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.

A Master's Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity may be substituted for the required education.

Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the “New Jersey First Act,” all persons newly hired by the Judiciary must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
