Splunk IT Operations is looking to gain an extraordinary addition to our Observability team. At Splunk, each team is passionate about monitoring and managing the reliability and performance of its services. The mission of the Observability Team is to provide tools to allow other teams to visualize, analyze, monitor, and alert on the performance, integrity and security of our systems and applications - and moreover, to provide insight at the granularity of a single component as well as at a multi-system level. With that, comes the design, config and administration of Splunk @ Splunk production needs. The team is comprised of Software Engineers with a strength in innovation and focus on building solutions that will enhance services offered and supported by IT Operations.
In this role, you will play a role with data onboarding, system configuration and internal user support. We continue to find new and innovative ways to use the product and need to expand our services. Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
Troubleshoot the systems to ensure we are identifying and solving problems before our users
Provide tier 2 support for system and application incidents that meets our defined SLAs
Collaborate with data owners to ensure access meets our security standards
Design, develop processes and deliver workflows to improve sustainability
Deliver a high quality production and development environment to the business
Build reports and metrics to help monitor the infrastructure
Document runbooks for the work performed
Required Skills and Background: I've already done that or have that!
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or other relevant field
2-3+ years administrating and using Splunk; 5+ overall years in Information Technology
Demonstrated experience with a distributed Splunk Environment
Demonstrable experience deploying our premium Apps is a + (ITSI, ES, UBA)
Superior written and oral communication skills a requirement
Highly developed, process-oriented skills for troubleshooting, problem solving, and problem resolution
Understanding of Regular Expressions (Regex)
Intermediate understanding of Linux
