IBM WSRR Administrator and Architect

OVERVIEW

Will design highly reusable web service integration solutions to meet global business and architecture requirements to deliver key technology solutions, specifically in the context of enterprise integrations. This position will work within Enterprise Common Services team. As this team provides integration support for a large number of projects across the enterprise, there will be a lot of opportunity to interact with cross functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide guidance and necessary support for different roles (SOA Governance, Development, Business and Operations etc..) in using WSRR content for SOA Governance implementation
  • Implement the Governance policies approved by SOA Governance body, and educate necessary parties in following these policies.
  • Automate the Governance policy enforcement, following the guidance of the SOA Governance body.
  • Take a delegated responsibility, in transitioning the Service life cycle in the absence of any participating roles, as and when necessary.
  • Maintain the integrity of WSRR content, as it is important for correct functioning of the eco system.
  • Create Service Level Agreements, Service Level Definition, and mediation policies for the enforcement of monitoring and availability thresholds, for each new service and new consumer to services.
  • Implement necessary notifications ( E-Mail ), and other communication mechanisms to different roles, during the service life cycle transitions.
  • Follow established procedures to on-board a new credit Union and its IT roles to use WSRR in publishing the service information. Augment the procedures, as and when necessary.
  • Develop necessary reports (online and offline) and charts to enhance the existing Dashboard to enable Business users and executives to make correct decisions.
  • Manage WSRR environment, in applying new fixes or upgrades, while working with IBM. Interact with WDP and IIB environments, to support the runtime interactions in establishing runtime governance.
  • Responsible for detailed technical design and deployment of runtime end-points of web services in WSRR

  • Converts specifications about business needs into programming instructions.
  • Designs and codes programs; creates test transactions and runs tests; revises as necessary.
  • Participate in requirement workshop along with the Integration architect to understand the integration requirements and perform detail design through delivery.
  • Create Software Architecture Specifications complete with Application Building Blocks (ABB) and Software Building Blocks (SBB)
Technical demonstrable hands-on know how of:
  • WSRR Service Registry configurations
  • Managing WSRR with the Web UI
  • Managing WSRR with wsadmin
  • Managing WSRR with a Java JMX client
  • Managing WSRR with the command line interface
  • Access Control policy administration
  • Governance lifecycle administration
  • Configuration profile administration
  • Backup and Restore procedures
  • Creating, Modifying, and Managing Administration scripts
Experience Required:
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of Strong hands on experience with web service standards and integration development.
  • 3+ years' experience with IBM SOA Foundation Suite (IIB, WMB, MQ, WSRR) development, administration, governance, configuration, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • 4 years' hands on experience with XML Schema development, SOAP Interface definition, Industry Standard messaging models.
Mandatory Skills:

  • Hands on experience in design and development under well formed SOA disciplines
Desirable Skills:
  • Excellent understanding and experience working on Agile teams.
  • Some hands on experience with Splunk for testing and troubleshooting activities.
  • Some hands on experience with Service Virtualization technologies.
  • Some hands on experience with JBoss Drools.
  • Some mentorship experience working with junior staff.
