Fully Air-Conditioned Shop on the south side of Houston
As a Machine Shop Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our machine shop, ensuring the efficient and safe use of machines and equipment, and leading a team of machinists. Your role will involve planning and coordinating production schedules, maintaining quality standards, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
This is over night shift only.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of machinists, ensuring efficient and high-quality production.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor production schedules to meet deadlines and optimize workflow.
- Ensure all machines and equipment are properly maintained and in safe working condition.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Machine Shop Lead, Supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques. Using Haas, Mazak, Mori, Samsung.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a machine shop environment.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software for production management and reporting.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 70 per week
