SET THE COURSE
Corporate divisions of the organization and evaluating financial performance. The position oversees the performance of financial functions and establishes operating performance benchmarks and standards. This role is critical in supporting the Tommy Bahama Wholesale and Corporate divisions and requires both a strategic thinker and someone that enjoys being hands on. This individual manages a team responsible for the following areas: Wholesale, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Corporate Cost Centers, Licensing. Maybe also be involved to help support our Retail & eComm business.
BE THE ISLAND GUIDE
Lead and manage a team responsible for Tommy Bahama Wholesale, Corporate, Accounts Payable, and Purchasing. Wholesale & Corporate financial statements. Oversee month end close procedures for Tommy Bahama divisions. Review prelim and final monthly financial statements; ensure transactions are properly accounted for. Ensure month end close deadlines are met.
Prepare the quarterly reserve analysis for Tommy Bahama wholesale inventory markdown reserve.
Bonus calculation for our Distribution Center and Guest Services
Review account reconciliations for accounts Seattle Finance reconciles.
Prepare general ledger account detail analysis.
Work with FP&A to research/prepare budget vs actual variance analysis. Use this analysis to determine journal entries that may be necessary to properly reflect the financial statements as well as determine changes needed in the reforecast.
Work closely with internal department managers to review expenses vs budget to ensure company’s expenses are in-line with budget.
Hold monthly meetings with Marketing to track and forecast expenses.
Support the annual operating budget and reforecast process.
Support the year end audit as needed.
Review policy and procedures and implement best practices.
Support implementation of new projects/software/tools as requested.
Prepare special reports as requested management.
Flexible for other duties as needed to help support the overall business.
ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
CPA certification preferred
Generally, 8+ years Wholesale, eCommerce, Retail or related accounting experience. Experience in public accounting is a plus
4 or more years of experience leading and developing a team of people responsible for accounting activities.
Strong organizational and time management skills, serving with a sense of urgency
Excellent data analysis and trend identifications skills with a focus on problem solving skills.
Close attention to detail and closely supervise department tasks with an eye for improvement.
Good project management skills, taking an initiative from inception to completion and working with cross-functional leaders to define and achieve a successful outcome
Ability to manage a staff with varied skill sets (including exempt and non-exempt associates).
Strong work ethic and integrity
Strong working knowledge of GAAP including lease accounting and revenue recognition standards.
Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley
Strong computer skills, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP preferred
