We’re looking for a Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers has immediate openings for a full-time Sales Trainee to join our Lead Generation Group. This position will lead into our Outside Sales Training Program. This opportunity is located in our office in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role you'll promote Ritchie Bros. by providing follow-up care to customers through outbound warm calling, and by identifying potential leads for further business.

The Opportunity:

The Lead Generation Representative is an inside sales role to deliver Unprecedented Choice to our customers via the multiple product offerings within Ritchie Bros. The role will conduct outbound consignment call campaigns in support of the company achieving and exceeding its stated sales and revenue goals. The Representative will collaborate with Marketing and Sales Leaders to identify potential and existing areas of opportunity in the marketplace, for driving consignments and traffic to the inventories for sale on our various platforms. This position is great for someone with strong skills in forging new relationships, helping to grow a high-performance team, and in being the primary point of contact for new & existing customers of Ritchie Bros as well as building as new customer base. This is a sales role for hunters who love a new challenge of generating new business.

The core of the job is to contact potential sellers, uncover any consignment needs, and to connect them to their Trusted Advisor. To accomplish this, the Lead Generation Representative will work with everyone from sole proprietors to major corporations, primarily in Canada and the United States. This position is front line to our business and is directly responsible for the generation of new business and driving share of wallet through outbound and inbound channels while forging long term relationships. This is a primary entry point to our Territory Training Mgr. to advance their careers within the company and a large opportunity for growth while achieving your own professional growth goals. This role is built as a career development pipeline to fill Territory Manager Roles in the future. The skills learned in this position will be crucial to your future success in any sales role.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer & Sales driven focus - Contact acquisition & existing customers by phone, video, and email to actively drive equipment inventory to our live auctions & online marketplaces. This may include niche product list development and leveraging the company’s customer database, SalesForce, external sources and potentially inbound leads generated by marketing programs and company sales teams. All activity should be entered and tracked within SalesForce. LGR will prioritize outbound call opportunities received daily.
Introduce sales professionals to the customer, set sales appointments, and sell our services to current and future customers. Cross-selling other RBA services (financing, insurance, equipment refurbishment, etc.) will be key to our team success. Developing relationships across department lines to build internal communication for future learning and developmental functions. Building key relationships within the organization.
Coach, develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of our business and industry, including how to buy or sell with Ritchie Bros. via our live auctions, IronPlanet, and our online platform. Work tirelessly to promote the benefits of our various marketplaces to new and existing customers. Developing knowledge of equipment and each industry sector will be key as well.
Develop and deliver accurate campaign statistics reporting to assess performance against established targets via SalesForce. Track and follow up with lost business (win back customers, backup bidders, etc.) to establish long term relationships for future business.
Lead Generation Representatives will be expected to become an industry/sector expert in a specific area of Ritchie Bros. The LGR will share the knowledge/best practices with the rest of the team. Must be able to attend live auctions and volunteer for daily functions of the needed auction experience as well as developing sales relationships with the outside sales team.
Work with the various departments within RBA to develop & pilot consignment based growth programs/campaigns before deployment to the field teams.
Increase sales voume and deal size for sellers at upcoming auctions, both onsite and online.
Independently work on managing your own geographical territory and building upon developing success within the territory to increase GTV and drive organizational growth.

2+ years of B2B and/or B2C inside sales (i.e. outbound) experience, preferably in equipment rental/sales industry, with a consistent track-record of meeting/exceeding quotas.
Basic understanding of e-commerce and comfortable discussing technology with customers
Experience with general office productivity tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Relentlessly driven to seek new business.
Competitive, but you never sacrifice integrity to win business.
Additional languages are an asset, especially French or Spanish
Good with numbers and the ability to make sound decisions quickly in a fast-paced setting.
Strong presentation, strategic thinking, negotiation and closing skills.
A natural ability at building authentic customer relationships, and the ability to interact effectively with a broad spectrum of employees at all levels.
Persuasive and motivational personality

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline with a strong academic track record
