What is the opportunity?

As a writer with RBC Wealth Management, you will be part of a team that leads the daily development and publication of content, based on RBC brand standards and informed by a deep understanding of our products, services and business channels. As part of the Marketing team, the key focus is to deliver must-read content in all formats (traditional collateral, scripts, social media, UX, etc.) that supports our U.S. wealth management business objectives and the needs of our advisors and U/HNW clients.

This writer is a key contributor in supporting RBC’s messaging strategy, content calendar and content library in addition to our publication platforms.

What will you do?

Research and write effective external and internal copy for a variety of marketing collateral, including stakeholders and audiences of financial advisors, clients/prospects and other business partners
Consult with product managers, designers and stakeholders to develop creative and effective communications to ensure efforts are aligned and objectives are met in a manner that takes current regulatory and competitive environments into consideration
Develop digital content and CTAs that generate engagement and leads and help develop and maintain brand standards for written copy for all marketing materials
Work with the marketing team and stakeholders to ensure that content and marketing materials meet the intended purpose, client insight and audience
Develop copy that explains complex financial information in an easily understood format for the intended audience
Edit marketing materials to adhere to changes or enhancements of business line products or services and ensure timely and effective delivery of all assigned projects. Manage multiple stakeholders and ensure appropriate legal, compliance, brand and lines of business approvals
Handle a variety of challenging projects in the marketing department as assigned

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field or equivalent work experience with 7+ years experience in writing and marketing communications
A self-starter with high energy and creative thinking who will go beyond the obvious and provide insights rather than just sorting information
Strong ability to develop a consulting relationship with internal customers and stakeholders regarding copy development and strategic creative problem solving
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat and experience with content creation and publication across multiple mediums – print, digital, video, and social
Knowledge of both social media and UX/UI best practices and experience in writing B2B as well as B2C content

Nice-to-have

Digital strategy and marketing experience and experience with content management systems and workflow tools
Familiarity with publishing platforms including Salesforce applications and fluency in SEO best practices
Fluency in using web analytics tools (Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics) to inform effective content creation
3+ years experience in the financial services industry
