WGL - Regulatory Affairs Specialist

WGL is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing regulatory support and analysis for the Virginia State Corporation Commission (VASCC).
As a Regulatory Affairs Specialist at WGL, you will:
Provide lead regulatory support in rate cases, accelerated pipe replacement proceedings, and regulatory filings before the VASCC
Identify issues of importance, identify business unit resources, and work collaboratively with cross-functional team members to complete filings on time
Review VASCC Orders and provide brief assessments of key points to applicable business units
Ensure that all data responses are provided according to established deadlines
Assist with the drafting and editing of Company witness testimony
Identify potential changes to Company tariffs that can better facilitate business unit or Company objectives
Conduct research of regulatory and industry issues and trends that affect the Company’s financial and operational interests
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline preferred
Minimum three (3) years regulatory and/or utility experience with a concentration in state regulatory area
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Sound knowledge of utility ratemaking, rules, practices, and policies that govern the local gas distribution business
Experience as, or willingness to be a witness in regulatory proceedings is a plus
