New York Institute of Technology-Division of Dining Services is seeking a part-time Utility worker for the deSeversky Mansion at Old Westbury campus. Following the direction of the Chef de Cuisine, the Utility person will follow a daily work plan.

Responsibilities include:
Set up pot sink areas
Maintain and ensure proper use of chemical in machines and manage cleaning inventory
Wash and properly store all dishes, trays, eating utensils and small equipment
Maintain, organize and keep a clean work station, including floors and walls
Dispose of garbage
Clean upstairs and downstairs daily
Perform weekly deep clean of ivengrills, fryers and stovetops
Assist with food preparation as requested by Chef de Cuisine
Assist with food deliveries and storage
Follow rules of safety and sanitattion to ensure care in food handling, in accordance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) policies and procedures, safety in work, and reduction in accidents.
Perform end of shift final walk through
Other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements (High School or Equivalent), plus one to two years’ experience in an institutional food service operation as a utility worker or dishwasher, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
HACCP and Safety and Sanitation Certification required; or must be in the process of obtaining.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
