As a Mechanical Engineer at AS&T, you will work with a dedicated group of engineers who are skilled in the design of unmanned aircraft and their associated support systems. You will leverage your experience and engineering knowledge to successfully support engineering teams during development efforts, and sustain that success through production support.

Active DoD security clearance (Secret or higher)
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
3D CAD design skills
Experience with fabrication and assembly techniques. The ability to assemble and modify complex assemblies is required.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SSBI DoD security clearance
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills to facilitate communications with team members
Demonstrate excellent organizational, decision-making and problem solving skills
Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
Ability to travel up to 10%
Support Field Testing
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded engineer, with a solid foundation of knowledge about core mechanical engineering principles, while also possessing knowledge of other engineering disciplines. Cross-discipline knowledge of electrical and aeronautical engineering is beneficial for this position. The candidate should be passionate about all aspects of mechanical design.
The Mechanical Engineer will have knowledge of the mechanical design process, and the ability to effectively communicate engineering concepts, costs, and risks to program managers and other members of the management staff. The candidate must be comfortable performing complex CAD modelling tasks. A high level of knowledge about the technical aspects of mechanical engineering and design processes will serve to build trust with the management team when acting as a program lead engineer or cost account manager.
