Staff Accountant

We are a fast-growing flooring company in the Dallas area looking for a detail-oriented, experienced accountant to work closely with our Controller in overseeing our accounting operations. Ideal candidate should be a self-starter that is able to multi-task and thrive in a busy full-cycle accounting department. We are looking for an individual that respects deadlines, has good organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Ideal candidate should have excellent math and analytical skills. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with sales and use tax returns in multiple states
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting
  • Maintain company accounting procedures and processes, and assist in creation of procedures and processes to strengthen internal controls
  • Work directly with Controller to improve financial procedures
  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses
  • Process payroll, payroll tax liabilities, 940’s & 941’s, and process new hires
  • Maintain intercompany transactions, familiar working with multi-entities
  • Working knowledge of depreciation schedules
  • Working knowledge of prepaid expense accounts
  • Analyzing and reporting cost variances
  • Assist in special projects as necessary


  • Must have working knowledge of GAAP principles to ensure company compliance
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
