Staff Accountant

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Assist the Controller with various administrative and accounting functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not necessarily in order of importance):

  • Preforms assigned accounting and related clerical support functions. Including but not limited to AP, AR, weekly check processing & bank wire payments
  • Prepare certain financial reports and GL schedules monthly
  • Prepare Journal Entries as needed
  • Update & maintain invoicing, sales orders, and purchase orders
  • Sales rep commission tracking and reconciliation
  • Reconcile credit card statements
  • Maintain and submit Law Labels
  • Track Supplier vendor invoices and maintain accurate payment due dates
  • Assist in the maintenance and preparation of internal controls
  • Bank reconciliations & bank credit line reporting
  • Researches, tracks, and resolves accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Assist with preparation of audit support schedules for external auditors
  • Support other team members as needed
  • Completes special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required

KNOWLEDGE AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • 4 year Accounting or Business related degree preferred
  • Minimum 2-4 years of accounting work experience with 1-3 years of AP/AR hands on experience.
  • Import/Export, Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Quickbooks and Sage 100 experience a plus
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Intermediate Excel, Word, and Outlook knowledge

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 to $23.00 /hour

Experience:

  • quickbooks: 1 year (Preferred)
  • AP & AR: 2 years (Required)
  • General Accounting: 4 years (Preferred)
