The Privacy Engineering team is tasked with building tools, frameworks and APIs that protect customer privacy and retains their trust. The team will focus on engineering solutions that will support privacy by design. Being an emerging field, this role requires thought leadership, an ability to think outside the box, challenge status quo and think big to solve these problems not just for Advertising, but for all of Amazon.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline.
5+ years of professional industry experience.
Experience with at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java.
Object Oriented Design and familiarity with application and database programming under UNIX/Linux.
Experience with Agile (SCRUM, RUP, XP), OO modeling, web services, UNIX, middleware, database and data mining systems
Experience mentoring and training the engineering community on complex technical issues
Deep hands-on technical expertise, excellent verbal and written communication skills
A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional projects
Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Experience with building high-performance, highly-available and scalable distributed systems.
A willingness to dive deep, experiment rapidly and get things done
You have bit on an entrepreneurial streak and like understand how the entire business works, the long-term vision. Our Sr. SDEs don’t just define the technical approach, but also have a seat at the table to help make the right product decisions. We are in uncharted territory for the whole industry and you will play a major role in defining and developing key milestones.
