We are seeking an Environmental Scientist to help with the development of algorithms for CBRN transport dispersion and effects model development; and geospatial data analysis to include remote sensing and hydrological data.

ARA’s team of scientists and engineers support emergency response planning training and real-time analysis through algorithm development modeling and simulation and data analysis. Our scientists are valued members of the team tasked with work that is critical to the success of our projects. Tasks associated with this position will include development of algorithms for CBRN transport dispersion and effects model development; and geospatial data analysis to include remote sensing and hydrological data.
Requirements of an Environmental Scientist
Bachelor’s degree in geography hydrology or related science. Applicant must also have two to four years of related professional experience.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office MATLAB and ArcGIS software suites
Must have experience with geospatial data to include multispectral data analysis.
Must be detail oriented and experienced writing scientific reports and publications.
Candidates must be independent; self-motivated; and have excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
Must be able to obtain a favorable background investigation which will result in a security clearance.
Position Preferences
M.S. or PhD is preferred in Geography or related discipline.
Familiarity with statistical analysis of geospatial data.
Work experience relating collecting processing and assessing environmental data.
Active Secret security clearance is a strong plus. Experience Required

Bachelors or better in Hydrology or related field
Bachelor of Science or better in Geography or related field
