The Role:
Acute Rehab Registered Nurse, Day shift 6a-6:30p
- This is a 36 hour per week position. You will work three 12-hour shifts per week, with weekend and holiday rotation required.
The Opportunity:
MaineGeneral Medical Center is offering an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our close-knit and engaged Rehabilitation Team. We provide a supportive environment for new graduates and experienced RNs. Our patient’s medical acuity facilitates the growth of clinical skills while working on a great team.
We are a hospital-based Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit with 12 beds. Acute inpatient rehab provides 24-hour Registered Nursing care with close physician oversight for patients participating in intensive physical rehabilitation gaining back their independence. We care for patients with a variety of diagnoses from stroke to major multiple trauma. We are a Stroke Rehabilitation Certified Unit.
Experienced RNs: $15,000 Sign-On Bonus potential for RNs with at least 1 year of recent Acute Care experience. (Paid out in three increments over 1 year from start. Open to new hires to MGH only. Must not have been employed by MaineGeneral in the past year.)
The Work:
- Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
