Job Description - Business Development Director

PRO EM is a recently consolidated, private equity-backed provider of event equipment and services. Through a series of recent large acquisitions, the once regional company now has an expanded footprint, as well as the equipment and people necessary to serve the growing needs of prospective event customers. The Company is well positioned via these new capabilities and capacity to grow its market share of the event market through new geographies, new event industry verticals and other new customers. With this in mind, PRO EM is seeking a new Director of Business Development to aggressively lead and oversee the development and growth of profitable new business. This will be a new, and key, position within the Company.

Job Responsibilities:
Identify, evaluate and qualify new business leads and coordinate with the team of existing Account Executives to close new business
Responsible for the overall development and management of all strategic and operational Sales, Marketing and Customer Relationship activities, utilizing a thorough understanding of market opportunities, company operational capabilities, customer needs and industry trends.
Develop and maintain effective key strategic relationships
Provide market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, survey and understand prospect needs and generate new product development ideas.
Drive increased revenue and profit to achieve the Company`s growth.
Working to stringent targets, the job holder will be required to adopt a professional and knowledgeable approach to each new business lead.
Plan and coordinate the implementation of business plans to penetrate new markets.
Support the overall process of management and corporate decision-making to ensure the organization maximizes its short, medium and long-term profitability and shareholder returns.
Develop, review, and report on the business development division’s strategy, ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood and executed
Oversee the development of sales and marketing collateral materials
Present a budget for company leadership’s approval and prudently manage resources within those budgetary guidelines according to company policy.
Maintain and develop organizational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers and partners.

Job Requirements:
5+ years’ experience in Business Development, Sales, Marketing in the Event Management or Hospitality industry
A strategic thinker who can architect a sales strategy while also being tactical and hands-on in the rollout of operational initiatives
Highly skilled in negotiations with strong business acumen.
Exceptional people skills with an outgoing personality
A strong customer focus
Strong organization, time management, multi-tasking skills, and detailed oriented
Self-starter with a professional appearance
Strong verbal and written communications and presentation skills
Must be a team player that works well in a collaborative environment
