Full Job Description

SCAD seeks a Senior Art Director for SCAD Books to oversee the design of the university’s dynamic and diverse book productions.

In this position, you’ll collaborate with the Executive Director of Creative Services and the book editorial team on the design and production of a few innovative titles annually that further elevate the university’s reputation.

The ideal candidate is fluent in all aspects of book production and printing standards and is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a creative, collaborative, and fast-paced environment. The candidate should be positive, proactive, and flexible with a keen eye for detail and knowledge of book design, culture, and technology trends. Experience with packaging is a plus. The candidate should also exhibit a mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on InDesign.

Requirements:

B.A. degree
Eight or more years of experience in a print publishing environment media company, magazine, museum, university, agency, or creative environment
Portfolio that showcases innovative use of typography, photography, illustration, and graphics as well as a strong sense of composition and a variety of projects that show versatility in design and format
