Computer systems administrators are responsible for the day-to-day operation of HPS IT systems.
o Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited college or university required.
o Minimum 3 years experience in server-domain system management and computer developing/programming supporting 3000+ users (5 years experience preferred).
o Microsoft Certifications 2012 (12 MCSA preferred, MCSE preferred)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Work on help-desk tickets and provides quality customer service to staff and clients.
o Design, install, configure, and test Microsoft Windows Server OS?s with all roles-features. (Especially domain and related.
o Configure, monitor, and resolve issues on current and previous versions of Windows Server, along with its various roles, such as Active Directory, DNS, Cloud, DHCP, IIS, NPS, and others
o Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Microsoft Windows server operating systems and applications and other systems as appropriate, and will recognize and troubleshoot problems with server hardware and applications software.
o Develop, write, update, and maintain a computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs, such as Microsoft Windows active directory and domain related roles, tracking inventory, storing or retrieving data, or controlling other equipment.
o Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.
o Collect data in order to evaluate and optimize computer system performance.
o Diagnose, recognize and troubleshoot problems with server hardware and applications software.
o Provide security, operations, maintenance, and support for network and computer systems.
o Install, configure routers, firewalls, switches and make sure the cables are connected properly.
o Promptly report to management about the Network Performance reports, Current status of the Network on time.
o Co-ordinate, configure and Install network configurations, software?s etc.
o Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
o Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
o Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.
o Develop, write, update, and maintain a computer programs or software packages to handle to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks.
o Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.
o Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
o Monitor network performance in order to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
o Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records.
o Research new technology, and implement it or recommend its implementation.
o Creating, Documenting, Testing and modification of HARMONY standard processes and procedures
o Establishing and documenting standards and procedures, maintaining inventory of technological devices, working with outside vendors, and maintaining backup systems.
o Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel in order to facilitate purchases.
o The job requires flexibility to coordinate with other schedules and may require work after normal business hours.
o Depending on the layout of the business, significant physical activity is also potentially necessary.
o Performance network analysis and troubleshooting
o Packet capture and analysis of application traffic
o Work in a team as well as independently as required.
o Work off hours as required for project work
o Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to organize special programs for IT department
o Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.
o Ability to analyze data
o Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Light Work: may require the occasional light lifting.
o Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
o Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
o Moderate travel is required.

Dallas/ Fort Worth and Central Office - Houston
Salary minimum: $60, 000 Salary maximum: $84,000
Austin, El Paso, and San Antonio Districts: $2,000 less
