OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
Special Education Teacher of Life Skills and Autistic Support teacher is the lead teacher in the Life Skills/Autistic Support classroom. This position reports directly to the Special Education Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Special Education Certification
- Minimum one year experience working with students with autism and intellectual disabilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS:
- Responsible for development and coordination of individualized academic, behavioral and social programming
- Determine student progress by collecting and monitoring appropriate data.
- Able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Possess a caring nature while teaching the students with autism and intellectual disabilities
- Good communication skills to facilitate positive family interactions
- Create and implement appropriate and engaging lessons designed to meet the individual needs of students
- Able to adapt to change
- Supervise instructional support staff within your classroom
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,463.00 - $86,500.00 per year
