This position will function under the general supervision of the VP Perioperative Services/Surgical Service line. This position is an analyst, facilitator and consultant for the Surgical Services SLED. The Administrative Director will be responsible for projects and strategic planning for the Surgical Services SLED and Perioperative Services. This individual will be responsible for overseeing completion of deliverables on schedule. The Administrative Director will proactively coordinate and guide multiple teams throughout the life of their projects. This position ensures that the needs of the people involved and impacted by the work are considered and actions are taken to meet those needs. The Administrative Director must have demonstrated skills [including leading, negotiating, communicating, and managing diverse stakeholders] in general management. This individual ensures that project management standards such as milestones and approvals are achieved and executed to ensure a successful project implementation. The Administrative Director will be assigned to more than one project at a time, based on the size and complexity of each project.


Engage leadership at multiple levels. Ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed who could impact or be impacted by a decision, activity, or outcome of the projects

  • Act as a credible source of information to team members
  • Make decisions, or prompt the right person for a decision
  • Carry messages rapidly to the teams. Provide weekly updates to team members through the go-live date. Review status, make recommendations, and resolve problems.
  • Support meetings as necessary. Prepare meeting materials and ensure appropriate communications before, during, and after the meeting. Develop presentations that inform in a clear, accurate manner.
  • Build tactical physician and administrative relationships
  • Coordinate project and strategic planning for the Service Line
  • Manage project planning and scheduling. Monitor and report on deliverables and milestones as defined in the project schedules. View current status in light of goals and re-prioritize activities as needed. Identify and communicate potential risks and mitigation plans.
  • Effectively and efficiently influences processes, outcomes and behaviors to complete assignments in a timely and quality focused manner.
  • Anticipate needs of team members and address these appropriately.
  • Acts as a consultant/coach to leadership as necessary. Develop and maintain good working relationships with all CCHS employees in various roles that are impacted by projects or strategic initiatives.
  • Initiate and support excellent two-way communication and working relationships with all audiences to foster ongoing information exchange during the development and implementation of initiatives.
  • Develop a budget for each initiative. Ensure that each project is completed within budget
  • Assure the ability to track quality indicators and patient outcomes across an array of services and settings
  • Assess current reporting capabilities and gaps relative to new requirements
  • Oversee the development of targeted strategies for engagement (e.g., education materials, health IT tools, patient advisory committee, patient portals) and communication to patients
  • Develop relationships with essential services to provide additional analytical, care management, and information technology support
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree Required (Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration, or related field.)
  • Master’s Degree strongly preferred
  • Five (5) years of experience in financial or operations administration, preferably in a hospital-based environment with at least three (3) years in a supervisory position
  • Knowledge of financial, operations and strategic planning management principles
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate programs and projects.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and evaluate problems and recommend effective solutions
  • Ability to organize work, coordinate projects, set priorities, meet deadlines and follow up on assignments with little or no supervision
  • Ability to collaborate with clinicians and other staff
