Responsible for ensuring execution and compliance of retail Loss Prevention, Risk Management, and Health and Safety programs. Working with minimal in-person supervision, ideal candidate uses discretion to manage the Loss Prevention, Risk Management and Health & Safety programs to support the operation of assigned retail related facilities. Must be a leader who develops a team atmosphere and creates partnerships with Regional, Area and local Store Management to monitor and enforce policies, directives and standards. Responsible for maintaining and monitoring store and employee safety, security and identifying loss activity by applying various Loss Prevention techniques to control potential or actual losses. Establishes and maintains a safe working environment for all associates and customers, and identifies losses/risk and develops actionable plans to prevent loss and reduce shrinkage, while promoting Loss Prevention, Risk Management, and Health & Safety awareness within stores and other retail facilities.

Essential Job Duties

Health and Safety

Work closely with operations personnel and influence key-stakeholders to assure employee and guest safety is managed proactively day-to-day.
Identify and implement programs/practices that promote a company-wide Safety Culture;
Oversee and conduct incident investigations identifying opportunities for improvements for both employee and guest incidents;
Effectively communicate incident investigation findings and partner with management to assure completion of corrective actions;
Lead and support the implementation of company safety policies and programs to prevent unsafe work practices and to promote slope safety;
Deliver training programs related to health and safety;
Prepare technical reports related to safe work requirements and provide recommendations to improve workplace safety;
Provide creative solutions to generate employee and guest involvement in the safety processes;
Review loss information and provide information and reporting on trends for employee and guest safety;
Conduct facility audits related to health, safety and risk;
Work collaboratively with the Director of LP, Risk, EHS and Regional/Area Managers to design and deliver comprehensive safety management programs.
Responding to incidents and having availability or agreed upon coverage 24/7
Work collaboratively with the Work Comp Department and Legal to assure proper claims management
Lead and facilitate Safety Best Practice Groups as assigned
Able to travel within the assigned market. Travel requirement: 50% -75%
Loss Prevention

Conduct thorough Investigations of theft-related issues, as well as any issues which may negatively impact the company brand (IE: Policy violations, cash losses, inventory loss).
Conduct interviews of employees within Company policy & guidelines.
Conduct in-store Loss Prevention audits, and assist in the creation of shrink action plans to achieve operational compliance.
Lead on-going training and store awareness presentations, to educate and motivate store management & associates, to achieve company loss prevention goals.
Create, supervise & effectively lead loss prevention strategies for assigned stores to reduce all shrink related factors.
Ensure physical security in all assigned stores is to operational standards.
Develop and implement training and education on basic shoplifting procedures and deterrence of internal theft factors.
Complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Loss Prevention / Risk / EHS.
Coordinate security requirements and supervise contract or designated security personnel during off-premise and/or special events.
Skills and Experience

Work Experience – 3-5 years relevant experience, ideally in a big-box retailer or in multi-unit specialty retail.
Education – Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience. Formal interview training (Wicklander-Zulawski, Reid) preferred.
Drives Performance – Holds self and others accountable to a higher standard to achieve results; provides feedback, visibility and recognition to the store teams.
Strategic Vision – Identifies strategies and objectives; provides clear expectations and shares rationale behind decisions.
Related Skill Set - Proficient in MS Office Suite required, experience with EAS, CCTV, Intrusion alarm and fire systems, exception reporting systems (SBR, AS400, MMS, JDA, alarm data base systems) preferred.
