Full Job Description
Identify and take the lead on one or two major projects that will benefit the Packaging Value Stream of the Skokie plant.
The intern will also assist engineers with projects that may include, but are not limited to:
Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) implementation.
Conducting time studies in support of larger projects.
Researching new equipment for the Packaging VS.
Updating standards and layouts in the Packaging VS.
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Junior or Senior Level status as of September 2019.
Previous co-op or internship experience preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD 2D preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point). MS Access a plus.
Proven track record of accomplishments both inside and outside of the educational setting.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Interesct in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering career path in automotive industry.
Interest in automotive tier 1 component industry.
Strong motivation to drive results.
Ability to establish and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Strong analytical skills necessary to plan and prioritize own work and complete work on schedule.
Ability and drive to solve problems and suggest proactive solutions.
