What You'll Do:
About the role: We are looking for a Field Service Supervisor in the Central Region: from Michigan to Montana to Texas. This position is remote and will manage the day-to-day activities of a team of Field Service Technicians. In addition, the supervisor provides customer support and service on world-class fitness products, including cardio, strength, video, and networked systems. The role provides a high level of customer care and technical troubleshooting to resolve product and customer issues at customer locations.
The Field Service Supervisor divides their time between staff supervision and maintenance of customer equipment. A typical day might include the supervision of the day-to-day activities of assigned technicians, coordination of resources to resolve escalations, and providing technical assistance to end-users and other servicing agents in a defined region. It could also include the installation, troubleshooting, analysis, and repair of Precor fitness, entertainment, and networked equipment. The key to this role is ensuring a sound working relationship with Precor customers in a specified territory. This position reports to the Senior Customer Service Manager.
You will be responsible for: Supervision, Field Service/Customer Care and Reporting/Inventory
Supervise day-to-day activities of assigned employees in the field service team.
Handle customer escalations, coordinate service technicians, and HQ resources as needed.
Approve timesheets, maintain PTO schedule of those reporting to you.
Monitor expenses and approve expense reports of those reporting to you.
Review technician performance.
Ensure quality of work performed by direct reports.
Participate in the hiring and retention of technicians.
Independently isolate and resolve issues raised by Precor customers while utilizing knowledge of electronics and sound problem-solving techniques.
Exercise considerable independent discretion and judgment in resolving customer issues.
Manage your appointment schedule with customers following a dispatch from your home office.
Directly interface with all levels of a customer's organizations on a wide range of product topics.
Install new equipment and/or modifications.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance checks and adjustments.
Provide technical support to customers via telephone and on-site support.
Advise or train the customer on proper use, operation, and maintenance of their Precor equipment.
Maintain a company-supplied vehicle in good working order.
Ensure a sound working relationship and liaison with the customer to create or maintain an image of Precor and its products.
Actively pursue continuous improvement and ease of doing business to meet or exceed customer needs and to further overall company goals and objectives.
Compile monthly KPI reports and communicate with upper management regarding those reports.
Provide detailed reporting on equipment problems in the field.
Maintain a proper inventory of spare parts.
Perform other related duties to accomplish primary functions, including but not limited to accurate and timely paperwork.
What We're Looking For :
To be successful in this role you will have: Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job, will be considered.
Minimum of AA in Electronics, Technical School Degree as Electronics Technician, or equivalent Technical Training.
A minimum of 12 months as a Field Service Technician working with Fitness equipment or products of equivalent or greater complexity.
Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license for the territory which you will be covering with a clean driving record. A motor vehicle check is performed as part of the background screening process.
Supervisory experience a plus
Excellent time management, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Must possess excellent customer care skills.
Must be able to pass a personal criminal record background check.
Must be computer literate with demonstrable ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
Can demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
Ability to work with schematics or other reference material on mechanical electrical and electronic devices.
Daily local travel is required.
Occasionally overnight, weekend or holiday work may be required.
Working around customer's schedules will require the flexibility of working hours of both start and end times during a typical work period.
Equipment to be serviced will be located in Public corporate and private fitness centers. Occasionally it will be necessary to service equipment in private residences
