Principal Material Program Manager Job Description:
Material Program Manager (MPM) for the Missiles & Defense Advanced Technology (AT) business area.
The Material Program Manager (MPM) is a strong leader with demonstrated project management skills. The candidate for this position will be accountable for Supply Chain Activities supporting the proposals and execution of both AT and IRAD programs.
This individual must be a self-starter, capable of supporting and executing organizational and program objectives, and demonstrate the ability to interface with all levels of internal management, including supplier management. This roles responsibility will include leading supply chain activities related to supporting the Integrated Product Development System Gate process and support for multiple critical subcontracts. You will have accountability for supplier performance, subcontract management, proposal development, and budget ownership. This position could be a G09/G10 based upon the successful candidate’s qualifications
Position to be located in Tewksbury, MA
Specific Responsibilities include:
Lead all supply chain activities supporting manufacturing of the AN/TPY-2 radar, most notably on the AEU5 task order on the Radar Development Contract and other task orders as required
Develop and communicate global supply chain strategies in alignment with the goals of the business and the supply chain organization
Supporting planning, execution and reporting of material and labor budgets, sales, and contributing to monthly LRE and quarterly EAC inputs
Serving as a key contributor in a Cross Business Team environment
Work Package Manager supporting Control Account Manager (CAM)
Supporting leadership reviews, including Gate reviews, Monthly Operations Reviews, Customer and Program Reviews.
Execute make/buy/where process
Develop and execute risk/opportunity plans to meet program objectives
Balance strategic thinking with tactical application of strategies to programs
Collaborate with supply chain functions for support as needed.
Monitor performance metrics and proactively acts to address program and functional issues
The MPM is the single point of contact to management and to internal customers, including Program Office, Quality, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Contracts. They will represent the Supply Chain organization on policies, strategies and objectives, oversee all SCM activities needed to meet program requirements, and ensures a strong link within and between various Supply Chain functions, including Sourcing, Logistics, and Production Control.
Minimum of 6 years of combined experience within supply chain, operations, or project management within Government and commercial defense markets
Must possess demonstrated project management skills and be a proven problem solver
Experience working on an Integrated Product Team (IPT)/Cross functional team
Experience working in the DoD Aerospace & Defense industry and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Experience with Supply Chain processes and related systems
Experience with contract flow down requirements and how to filter those specific to Supply Chain.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project)
Support of planning, execution and reporting of material and labor budgets, Earned Value Management, and Estimate at Completion reporting
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with macros, vertical lookups and charting / graphing.
Understand contract flow down requirements and how to filter those out specific to supply chain
Candidate must be able to travel occasionally
U.S. Citizenship status is required
Risk Management experience
Desire to coach/mentor teammates on GSCM best practices
Ability to convert business area and customer requirements into executable strategies.
IDS Supply Chain/MPM experience (including IDS MPM Certification)
Ability to obtain MPM Level 4 certification within 1 year of start
Previous experience on an EV reportable program
Working knowledge of US Government acquisition laws and regulations
Fluency in IDS systems, process, and procedures.
Secret clearance or Ability to obtain within 1 year
Knowledge and experience working with FAR, DFAR
Experience leading or supporting proposal efforts Experience working interdependently across business areas and supporting Cross Business Teams
Ability to collaborate with the Subcontract Administrator to develop statements of work (SOW) that are complete and conform to program requirements
