This opportunity will be exciting and challenging, seeking an entrepreneurial spirit to develop a comprehensive knowledge base of VNS, its uses, therapy areas & the marketplace. You should be able to provide recent examples of demonstrated aptitude and success in fostering robust, value-based physician relationships, and a capacity for interacting with patients in a clinical environment. A big part of this job is to be able to successfully identify, target and develop new accounts that have the potential to implant VNS for Epilepsy, along with targeting and identifying of all physicians, surgeons, neurologists, nurses and patient support groups within your territory. You will begin by implementing routing/targeted call plans after several weeks studying the current market of existing and potential clients with the current Area Manager. This task will include conducting consultative sales calls on neurologists, creating surgical capacity appropriate for patient demand and utilizing our case management teams to aid in pulling through the patients.
A Critical sub-task will be to provide training & supervision to surgeons and other neurologists on VNS for Epilepsy. A part of that will be visiting various healthcare professionals and Epilepsy Patient Advocate Groups. Keep in mind this is a very interdependent and entrepreneurial opportunity, however, partnering with the Regional Manager and Sr. Medical Device Consultants in the area will be critical to your success.
It’s essential that the VNS Medical Device Sales Consultant have 3 + years of successful selling experience in a medical field, preferably in a consultative role (e.g., Neuroscience Sales, HIV Sales, Oncology Sales, Diabetes Sales), where daily accountabilities are established, measured and rewarded. Realistically you will need to possess a BS/BA degree, preferably in Marketing or Business. This opportunity maintains dual responsibilities; you will educate and build new business.
