Job Description: Business Development Manager

Bloom Energy, a solid oxide fuel cell company, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join its world class team. The successful candidate will have responsibility for driving business development initiatives across multiple jurisdictions, including but not limited to performing quantitative analyses to support of policy initiatives, project management of market development efforts, and supporting other Business Development and policy initiatives. The right candidate will be well organized, a team player, and able to effectively manage the demands of multiple simultaneous projects. He/she will be a good communicator who can effectively interface with senior management, customers, and industry organizations. This is a cross-functional role that will require close coordination with the Product Marketing, Product Management, Project Finance and Sales functions.

Location: This position will be based in San Jose, CA

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as focal point for interactions between east coast and west coast Business Development and Policy teams with Sunnyvale headquarters
  • Perform quantitative analysis, build stakeholder coalitions, and draft regulatory comments to support Bloom’s policy and market development efforts.
  • Play a critical cross-functional role working closely with Sales, Project Finance, and Marketing teams to enable growth in current and new markets in close coordination with the Bloom policy team.
  • Support efforts to create and build partnerships to enable growth in current and new markets.
  • Communicate market guidance to Sales and coordinate with Sales to execute against new policy and partnership opportunities.
  • Conduct market analysis in current markets and support efforts to open up new markets.
  • Serve as Bloom representative working with industry associations
  • Responsible for managing the Business Development budget.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Exceptional writing, communication and presentation skills; ability to portray complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Self-motivated an highly organized, thrives in a dynamic team environment
  • Able to grow and adapt as Bloom Energy grows
  • 6+ years professional experience
