Senior Education and Outreach Specialist, Literacy

We are looking to expand our National team with a new Senior Education and Outreach Specialist . This person will utilize their expertise in reading pedagogy, English Language Learner strategies, blended learning, and Federal Programs to cultivate and sustain high level partnerships with school districts on a national scale. This person will work alongside our sales professionals in the field to position the Lexia portfolio to address district needs, specifically with ELL student populations, and proactively support business development efforts.

This is a fully remote role and will require extensive continental US travel.

ROLE OBJECTIVES

Leverage extensive literacy and reading pedagogical expertise, as it applies to English Language Learners, to position Lexia in the market place as literacy experts.
Support our sales professionals with current and prospective customer districts with deep product knowledge and alignment with school district goals and initiatives to increase business development opportunities.
Seek out opportunities to represent Lexia as a key thought leader in a variety of forums (i.e. strategic customer meetings, public events, conferences, webinars, etc.) in order to place our programs within the larger framework of ELA instruction for general education, intervention, Special Education, English Language Learners, and other specialized populations.
Understand, communicate and leverage our research objectives, projects, related findings, and implications both externally and internally at varying scales to establish market position and engage with strategic partner organizations to inform future research goals and objectives.
Model best practices for program presentations utilizing varied and audience appropriate resources (i.e. PPT and Keynote decks, collateral, research and data, and program demonstrations).
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree minimum. Advanced degree in Education required; Ideal specialty degree focus in Literacy Education, ESL Education, Administration, or Educational Technology
5+ years’ experience in K-12 Education, including classroom teaching required
High-level district administration/leadership experience highly preferred
Exceptional levels of Reading or Literacy pedagogy, with a specialty focus in English Language Learners
Extensive experience in designing and implementing blended/personalized learning programs to accelerate learning.
Proven record of clear and compelling communication skills with diverse stakeholders using a variety of mediums (i.e. public speaking, presenting data, oral, writing, etc.).
Proven ability to write on literacy/reading specific topics and experience conducting high visibility in-person/virtual presentations to varying groups of people.
Experience utilizing and interpreting research, data analytics, assessment results and study methods to measure performance, support district resource planning, inform instructional decisions.
Experience working directly with educational professionals (i.e. teachers, administrators, etc.) on data to drive instruction.
Experience using Lexia programs and products highly preferred.
Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with cross functional team members, be self-motivated, work effectively under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience mentoring, training and providing professional development guidance to educators.
Capacity for extensive domestic travel (50-80%) and willingness to have flexible work schedule as needed.
