Loyola Medicine, a leader in academic medicine and healthcare services based in Chicago's western suburbs and a member of Trinity Health, one of the nation's largest Catholic health systems seeks an experienced Certified Nurse Anesthetist to join our team in Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine.

Position Summary:

The Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides anesthesia care in the operating room and off site settings, based on educational preparation and/or certification in the CRNA role to a specific patient population. Care goals include pre-anesthesia assessment, administration of general and regional anesthesia, airway management and post anesthesia care and patient discharge. The CRNA assumes the management of patients, functioning in both an independent and collaborative role with the physician, case manager, and other members of the health care team. As an expert practitioner, the CRNA performs selected invasive procedures, designs individualized treatment plans, evaluates outcomes, and modifies the treatment plan as needed. The CRNA facilitates the transition of patients between service units and provides/coordinates complex patient and family teaching.

Position Responsibilities:

Ensures that care delivered to patients, meets/exceeds standards of care and is provided according to Loyola University Medical Center's mission, strategic plans and all internal/external regulations, policies and procedures. Functions independently and collaboratively with the physician to provide continuity of health care services for individuals, families or groups. Evaluates the health status, acute episodes of illness, and health care needs of individuals through emphasis on comprehensive history, physical exam, and psychosocial assessment. Analyzes data to identify health/illness problems, the human responses to actual or potential health/illness problems, identifies variations from the norm in diagnoses emergent problems and complications. Designs and evaluates individualized treatment plan. Demonstrates and maintains expertise in the performance of selected complex invasive procedures. Coordinates care for optimal continuity of care across the health care continuum. Facilitates patient/family participation in health care by identifying learning needs and providing specialized education to enhance decision making. Exhibits professionalism by performing research, education, and leadership in clinical practice.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:

Required: Masters Degree

Minimum Experience:

Required: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications:

Required: ACLS (Advanced Cardio Life Support Certified), Current Registered Nurse License State of Illinois, NBCRNA-National Board of Cert & Recert for Nurse Anesthetists, Nurse Practitioner License State of Illinois

Preferred: CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
