The MITRE Cyber & Investigative Technologies team creates versatile capabilities that enhance national security and advance the cyber domain. Working as part of a team in on or more areas such as: software development, rapid prototype development, malware analysis, digital forensics, incident response, and systems engineering
Experience with Python, C/C++, Java, or another programming language
The capability to be thrown into new situations, and learn new data formats, programming languages, or tools
Ability to be proactive, self-managed, and able to interface well with sponsor personnel
Excellent communication skills
A basic understanding of cryptocurrencies is useful, but not required
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field
At least 5 years of successful experience
Experience manipulating large datasets with at least one modern programming language or business intelligence platform (e.g., Python, R, SAS, MATLAB, Java, C++)
Demonstrated ability to formulate rigorous models based on loosely-defined or underspecified research questions and requirements.
Demonstrated expertise using at least one of the following paradigms: agent-based modeling, discrete event modeling, system dynamics, or applied statistical modeling/machine learning for complex systems.
Experience leveraging COTS tools or writing programs to visualize multi-dimensional data.
Ability to apply, modify, and formulate algorithms and processes to solve challenging problems.
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word
Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC, presentation, and communications skills
Ability to possess and maintain DoD Top Secret Clearance level
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, or related technical field of study
5-8 years previous experience preferred
Existing DoD Top Secret Clearance
Experience in Tor
Experience in Vulnerability Analysis
Experience in Network architecture and design
Experience in Complex packet manipulation with iptables and ebtables
Exposure to malware analysis
Familiarity with DevOps principles (e.g. continuous delivery, continuous integration, automated provisioning)
Incident response and threat hunting experience
Demonstrable proficiency with reverse engineering (static & dynamic)
Full-stack web development experience (Django and AngularJS a plus)
Windows system administration
In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere/vCenter 5.5+ or a similar hypervisor
Experience with Cisco IOS and ASA appliances
Development experience with Elastic Stack and/or Splunk
Real-world experience with cryptocurrency or other blockchain-based technology
