Process Development Principle Scientific Associate (Contractor)
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead execution of experiments using pluripotent stem cells and cell processing equipment
- Design experiments for process characterization and/or optimization studies.
- Document experimental procedures and results according to established guidelines using batch records or Benchling ELN while ensuring data integrity

Prepare, analyze, interpret and present data generated from lab experiments/studies

Apply fundamental scientific and engineering principles to process development, process improvement and troubleshooting
- Effectively collaborate with a fully integrated team to facilitate the success of projects and participate in team scientific discussions

Perform cleaning and maintenance activities required to ensure a contamination-free environment.

Manage laboratory supply inventory, including ordering and restocking.

Support general laboratory and equipment maintenance as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
-
Process development experience in a bio-pharmaceutical setting working with interdisciplinary and cross-cultural teams
-
Experience with 2D and 3D cell culture and aseptic processing is required.
- Experience with DOE/QbD is preferred.

Experience with pluripotent stem cell culture and directed differentiation, including associated equipment such as cell processing bioreactors.

Strong organizational skills and effective communication skills to communicate/present technical and scientific information within a team.

Ability to follow detailed instructions and to maintain detailed and accurate records and notes.

Must be skilled in the Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Benchling ELN and data analysis preferred.
- Willingness to learn, contribute, and troubleshoot, with a team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, including effective communication of findings, progress, and problems

Occasional weekend work to support cell culture and/or bioreactor activities will be required.
Education and Experience:

A Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Engineering, Biology or related discipline and 1-3 years of industry experience or BS degree and 5+ years of industry experience
Pay Range:
$43-$45/HR
