Launch Code After School is the nation's fastest growing after-school kids program. In our centers, kids ages 7-14 learn to code in a fun, engaging way - by playing and building the games and applications they love. With our model, kids have blast, while parents are happy to see their children gain confidence learning coding, math, logic, and problem-solving skills.

What is the Position?

The Mobile Curriculum Developer is responsible for developing, creating, and editing a variety of educational and assessment materials. The ideal candidate will be creative and resourceful and must be able to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment. The candidate must share the company’s vision and commitment to publish high-quality educational content. Experience in teaching, standards-based education, and assessment is desirable. This is a full-time remote, contract position that can be located anywhere within the US.

Design standards-based practice and assessment products
Write and edit standards-based assessment items and age-appropriate reading and coding passages
Write and edit clear, thoughtful lessons for a variety of subject-specific skills
Provide, respond to, and implement editorial feedback in a polite and professional manner
Use style and procedure guides to ensure consistency across content
Use proprietary authoring tools for content development
Consistently meet assigned deadlines and quality standards
Demonstrate proficiency with programs, such as Microsoft Office for word processing, data management, and collaboration

Education and Subject Matter Expertise Required:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science field, MIS or Computer Science
Expertise in mobile app programing using emulators like MIT App Inventor

Experience Required:
5 years’ experience (combination of teaching and curriculum development) in Science grades 2-12
Proficiency in writing, editing, and communication
Careful attention to detail
Strong creative and critical thinking skills
Excellent research, Internet, and technical skills
Effective organizational and time-management skills
Flexibility and willingness to learn
Positive and high-energy attitude
Experience working on projects in multi-faceted and fast-paced environment
Experience working on cross-functional teams
Experience working with remote team members, a plus
