The individual should have an understanding, expertise and experience in commercial construction safety, including Federal OSHA (OSHA 500 preferred, OSHA 30 required) and other HES standards, compliance and regulations. The OE/HES contractor is a safety professional based at the work site representing the client to provide project oversight in ensuring an incident free work environment. BIndividua must be bilingual (English/Sapanish) and able to write and communicate in both english and Spanish.
Ensure all workers are informed of site specific health, safety, environmental and security concerns and requirements prior to entering the work site. All local PPE and training requirements must be followed.
Ensure all workers adhere to the requirements identified in the project safety plan
Perform audits of vendors and evaluate their OE/HES program and practices to determine their level of compliance with the requirements of client
Perform project work oversight – provide on-sight expertise and walk-around, lead safety meetings, review JSA and permits, be prepared to step in and shut down work in required, evaluate safety programs and make improvements – all on an on-going and daily process
Perform incident investigation as required by Client incident investigation and reporting process and support/write the final report.
Perform OE/HES audits or field reviews of work in progress (large construction projects, major facility/operations projects, roof repairs, major curtain wall work, building systems replacements, etc. or on-going plant/facility improvements)
Perform risk/hazard assessment and work with operations or project managers to write and build a project safety management plan and detail mitigation for addressing all risks
Conduct and/or oversee OE/HES training and project onboarding for employees and/or contractors working on the project
Ability to lead operations personnel and local contractors in development and implementation of OE programs (such SWP – HazCom, etc)
Assist Client OE/HES Specialist as needed
Expertise in providing guidance and oversight for evaluating/mitigating – hazardous chemicals and/or materials (asbestos, mold, etc.)
Job Requirements :
A bachelor degree in occupational safety or safety-related field and/or Certified Safety Professional certification, and minimum 5 years’ experience working in a safety focused role in an industrial environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and successfully communicate with HSE professionals, client management team and client’s workforce
Proficient with MS Word, Excel. Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, concise and technically correct written work products and reports
