Summary

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an Exhibitor Sales and Marketing Manager for SMG/Savor at the Moscone Center. Responsible for managing food and beverage sales to our exhibitor clients and provide excellent customer service. Other responsibilities include ensuring efficient client management, organizing orders, and taking a creative approach to work with a diverse client base to meet their different needs. To be successful in this role, you’ll need stellar organizational skills, a passion for events, and demonstrated ability to work well with clients. We’ll expect you to lead by example and uplift our staff during busy moments in our fast-paced environment. Ultimately, you will be part of the team that ensures our events run smoothly and our customers have a memorable experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for exhibitor clients before and during an event
  • Provide leadership and communications on behalf of clients to event managers and food and beverage operations.
  • Actively manage planning and detailing of all menus for exhibitor clients in conjunction with culinary department.
  • Create sales orders, contracts, payment and event analysis for exhibitor events
  • Act as a liaison in communications between sales, operations, event management and the client.
  • Continually interact with clients regarding service requirements before and during each assigned show and manage client experience.
  • Track appropriate contracts, payments, and necessary paperwork.
  • Ensure ongoing exhibitor marketing and sales calls.

Education and/or Experience

  • BA Degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Food & Beverage Sales or Event Planning

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to calculate amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to execute instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and other hospitality email marketing software.

Computer Skills

Proficiency with MS Office. Adobe Photo Shop and Adobe Illustrator a plus.

Other Qualifications

  • Experience as a Sales Manager, Event Planner, Hotel Convention Services Manager or Meeting Planner is a plus.
