Reporting to the Registrar, this is a highly responsible administrative position in the Office of the Registrar that requires strong organization, communication, customer service, and data entry skills. This person is the primary point of contact for students, staff, faculty, parents, and community members. Must be able to answer general questions regarding Sierra Nevada College, and understand clearly our registration policies, academic procedures, and curriculum and degrees offered.
Assist students with course scheduling, including registering and/or dropping courses and resolving conflicts, pre-requisite issues, etc.
Extract and format data into Excel via Evisions Argos reporting tool.
Create midterm/end-of-term course survey links, and process and distribute results.
Constantly evaluate and document office policy and procedures for effectiveness. Initiate action to improve quality when needed.
Prioritize timelines, schedules, and deadlines throughout each semester.
Manage student files and perform frequent file audit checks.
Work closely with Student Accounts, Financial Aid, and Admissions.
Collect, process, and distribute undergraduate Enrollment Verifications. Contact students with enrollment discrepancies.
Assist with course scheduling, i.e., creating and updating course information.
Identify issues, solve problems, recommend and implement strategies related to retention and persistence of students.
Manage all areas related to official transcript requests.
Maintain Registrar budget, tracking sheet, and purchase requisitions.
Assist with Commencement in May.
Other duties as assigned.
Two or more years of strong clerical and administrative support experience, preferably in an academic setting.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Highly motivated, with strong leadership skills and willingness to learn.
Strong interest and enthusiasm in assisting others.
Be highly organized, accurate, and attentive to detail, with strong statistical skills.
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Functions well within a team.
Manage multiple time-sensitive projects.
Handles confidential information with tact, discretion and in compliance with FERPA regulations. Maintaining strict confidentiality of the office is imperative.
Must have a professional demeanor, and ability to interact with others in person and on the phone.
Must be exceptionally proficient in administrative computing systems including Microsoft Office software; primarily Outlook, Word, and Excel. Banner experience highly desirable.
Position: full-time, hourly.
Pay Rate: $16.00 – $19.00 based on qualifications and experience.
